Christmas at Farmtown

On Friday Nov 24 we went to Farmtown in Sardis to see the Christmas Decorations and let the girls see HO HO and play on the fun things they had set up. Farmtown is one of very few business who still try to keep the true meaning of Christmas in what they do. Yes, they have a few things like the big jumpers that are not related to Christmas but they have employees walking around handing out pamplets on the true meaning of Christmas and they have church choirs come and sing on Saturday nights. We really try to make sure the girls know the true meaning of Christmas and the reason we get gifts is because we are celebrating the birth of Jesus. As long as they keep this close to their heart they will always find that warm feeling of Christmas no matter where they roam.

Storytime and Hayride

Uncle Micah and Lexi are tuned in to Storytime. I think Lexi as about on her last leg at this point.

Daddy and Maddie being silly on the hayride.
Mommy and her girls at storytime.
The hayride was the only thing we had not done and thought that since thay rode the Cow Train that skipping the hayride would be ok. When Macey insisted on riding the hayride I explained to her that is was the same as riding the cow train. She explained to me that it was not that there is hay on a hayride. How could I have forgotten such a simple thing.

Petting Zoo

The petting zoo was a big step for Granna, she doesn't care much for critters. However, Maddie loved them so Granna had to go with the flow. The best part was when the goat licked Granna on the hand. She pretty much invented a new dance at that point.

Macey loves all of the animals and I think she would have brought one of the baby goat's home with us if we would let her. All of the girls love the animals so this was where we spent most of our time.
Kinley really likes to look at the animals but does not care much for getting her hands dirty. She was ok with feeding them as long as the food was in a cup.

Jumping for JOY!

While everyone else was having a blast jumping in the different jumpers Maddie was hanging on to Granna for dear life. I guess you could say she is a Granna's girl right now, the other girls are just out of luck.

There is not much else to say about these pictures. The girls faces tell it all.

Our Little Indian Girl

Every year the 3 and 4 year olds have a big Thanksgiving feast at Hewiett church. The kids recite poems and sing songs they have learned. The 3 year olds dress up like pilgrims and the 4 year olds dress like Indians. After they recite their poems and songs they all sit down together and have a feast and eat the same types of food like the pilgrims and indians did long ago. It is absolutely amazing to me what these kids learn and can remember. Since they started learning about the pilgrims and indians all Macey comes home from school telling me what she learned and how that is what Pocahontas done or the Indians done on the movie.

Makinley's Thanksgiving Feast

Makinley's class has a small Thanksgiving Feast with just their class. She absolutely loves blueberry muffins, which I did not know. She was the first one to start eating and the last to finish. Everyone had already left when Makinley decided she was finished.
This was absolutely the quietest bunch of two year olds I have ever seen.

Daddy Turns 30!!!

Marc turned 30 on Sunday but our Sunday mornings are a little crazy so we gave him his present on Saturday night and sang Happy Birthday.

Daddy tries to get a birthday kiss from Maddie but she was being stingy with her kisses.
Kinley wasn't stingy. I think he got three or four from her.
Macey was so silly with her birthday smacks that I had to take four pictures before I actually got one of her giving him a smack.

Disney On Ice

Disney on Ice was absolutely wonderful, we all had a blast. Marc enjoyed the show very much and says it blows Barney out of the water.
When the show was over if you were fast enough you could get to the edge of the skating ring the characters would skate around the edge and shake hands with the kids. This might have been the best part of the night for the girls.
At intermission the girls asked for bags of cotton candy that had paper Mickey Mouse ears attached to them. Each bag was $10.00 per bag. We compromised for Nemo Icees. At least that way we had a keepsake that would last and we brought one home for Maddie.
The charachers would get the kids to stand up and dance around and clap with them and the music.

A family picture by the waterfall out side was the end of a great family day. The girls were asleep before we made it on to the interstate. Which was less than 1/4 mile from where we parked. We sure did miss Boo though.

Mommy and Daddy's Favorite

The Lion King was the favorite of the night for Mom and Dad. They were very good. The entire show was wonderful.

Macey's Favorite of the Night

Macey's favorite of the night was the Little Mermaid, she and the Prince were really good but they did not skate as long as some of the others and Macey wanted them to come back out.
We were very impressed at how good the skaters were. Not one person fell during the entire show. I would have fell the minute I touched the ice.

Makinley's Favorite of the Night

Makinley's favorite of the night was Nemo and Dori. I have to say they were pretty cute.
When Nemo came on I don't think Kinley even blinked. She was sitting in Marc's lap and she was like a limp noodle.
Marc and I watched the show to see how close it was to the real story and they were very good. The props and costumes were awesome.

Who Says I'm to small for Dress Up?

Friday while I was moving beds around in the girls rooms Macey and Makinley decided to play dress up. Maddie usually just watches, but this time she would have it no other way but for Macey to put the clothes on her too. The problem was once she was dressed up we could not get her to take them off.

Macey's Community field trip to the Police Dept.

While we were touring the city court room McGruff the crime dog came to visit and talk to the children.
McGruff even hung around to get photos with the kids.
We had snack in the court room and when we were finished we had another special visitor. This is one of the five dogs the city has, Officer Johnson said that the fact that they had to have that many dogs on the force was very sad to him. It is all directly related to the influx of drug problems.

Field Trip to the Fire Dept.

On Thursday November 2 we went to the Fire Dept on a field trip with Macey's school. The firemen took us on a tour and Mike Hill dressed up in his fire suit to show the kids what he would look like if they saw a fireman in their home.
They also let the kids look in the ambulance in case the ever had to ride in one.
Macey and Jaylee pose for a picture in their Fire Cheif hats.
When fireman Mike dressed up in his suit he also had them put his air tank on so they could hear the strange sound that it made so they would know to not be scared of the sound. The he crawled up to each of the kids and shook their hand.
All the kids got to be pretend firemen and climb up thru the big truck.

Trick or Treat

Here is my mean witch, my little giraffe, and my duppy dog. My duppy dog decided that she did not like her hood about 30 minutes into the night. Lexi was dressed up in her princess costume that Micah's neighbor made for her.

Daddy poses with his girls.

Macey's Halloween Party at School

Macey loves going to school, that is the one thing that she gets to do by herself and when mommy gets to come with her to special events that is "Mommy and Macey time".

Macey has 12 other students in her class . Macey, Jaylee, Olivia, and Anna Kate have become big buddies.

Mrs. Brooks even came is proper attire.

Carving Pumpkins

Carving pumpkins was a blast this year. This is the first year that I don't have a picture of someone asleep while we were carving. Daddy had to carve three pumpkins, we could not just have one. Everyone knows bedtime at our house is 8:30 and it was 9:50 when we got done.

Macey is all about the gooie part of carving, before it was over it was up to her elbows.

Daddy had lots of help from his little sweethearts. We picked out the pumpkin seeds and mommy found a recipe on the internet telling us how to roast them. They turned out ok, but would not go out and buy a pumpkin just to try them.

Maddie did not care for digging in the pumpkins she just wanted to eat what daddy was digging out of the pumpkin.

While Macey and Maddie like the goo, Kinley just says nasty. And that pretty much summed it up for her.
